Its been a while old friend :(

Holy cow!! I can't believe I haven't posted on here in 2 years.  Life has just taken over.  Moving, kids, and everything.  I'm hoping to get back into blogging.  I can totally keep up with instagram, but def not FB anymore.  See you guys...hoping to post a bunch soon.  Been crafting off and on, but def wanna get back into reading everyones blogs again :) see you around

A belated bday card

Ive been into copic coloring, since its so easy to stamp the images and use the markers.  I havent quite got the blending down, but once I add more to my collection ;) Im sure my images will get better. 

This was a belated birthday card for my DH's Gma.  Gotta love those TGF stamps...they are so cheery and easy to whip up and add to a card.

An apple for a new teacher

Just started getting back into the groove of crafting :) But still living outta some boxes...yikes!

Recently my DH's cousin graduated and became a teacher.  It was really tough for her at first to find a job...with so many teachers and less positions available she was starting to become discouraged.  But luckily she landed her first job.  Shes gonna be teaching elem kids in wahiawa.  So to congratulate her again and give her some love...I made a notebook and note pad for her.  Being a teacher shes gonna need all the supplies she can get. 

I used the cute lil apple from the create a critter cartridge.  I finally got to use it and now Im making cute lil critters all over!! Its addicting :)

I hope she enjoys her first year as a teacher and knows that we support her in her endeavor!!

Hey...Im finally back :)

    Sorry Ive been MIA and all my swaps and stuff have been either late or sent to the wrong places.  Im working on it :) So please just be a little more patient. 
     Update is we have a new island and a new address :) The move was a little rough because it was my first of many more to come.  Im sure I'll become a pro eventually.  We got this company to come and pack all our stuff.  And did they, I mean they packed a bunch of things that I didnt want to go.  They even packed a few bags of trash, a piece of wood and a donation bin.  Needless to say, it still needs to be donated.  But Im finding more things that dont belong.
     Also, I finally got 1/2 of my craft stuff taken out of boxes.  So I have a few pics of things that I made along the way.  Kinda with a rough kit of things.   Just a bunch of papers, some tools and adhesive.  But yea, we make do.  So Im in the process of mailing everything as we speak. 
     But Im glad that I can say Im finally back!! Missed all you gals and your funny blog posts and most of all...BEAUTIFUL creations!!

p.s....sorry I havent been able to leave comments on anyones posts.  I just got my internet back and my blogger is having issues with some peoples blogs.  but yea, hope to be checking everyones blogs out!!

My DDs HK Bday...long post with lots of pics :)

 *Please pardon...this is a long post with lots of pics :)**

I was scrambling around like crazy to get all the stuff ready for my DD's bday.  It was only a week after easter.  She wanted HK this year.  So here are some of the things I made.  This is mess that happens before everything got put together!

Goodie Bags blue for boys and pink and purple for girls

The cake was actually baked the day before.  What I did is freeze the cakes two nites before and just put it all together the morning of the party.  So I didnt have to rush to make these the day of.

My DH actually baked the cupcakes.  I found these fushia metallic foil cupcake papers.  Went perfect with the color theme.  And topped them with cream cheese frosting.  The cake has pink frosting from the can on top and then homemade buttercream in the middle.  Then the hk is piped in stars with buttercream and leftover cream cheese frosting.

I also made sugar cookies that went in the centerpiece and used these cute cookie cutters I got from Sanrio. 

Notebooks to go in the goodie bags.  I just made a bunch of different designs depending on the paper I used.  Then added a hello kitty pencil in with the notebooks.

 And at the end of the party...this was all the cake left :) Im glad...everyone had a great time!!

Re-purposing some clothes

Just a quick reminder...this is the last few days for my blog candy giveaway :)

So I hit a little sewing patch...instead of crafting with paper, I had an itch to sew :)  Sometimes when my mojo isnt flowing for paper crafts.  I guess thats why I started sewing.

 

 

Here is a pic of two shirts that I had.  The white tank top actually has a coffee stain running down the middle.  So I decided to use that and this brown top that I never wear anymore.  I usually donate clothes instead, but I didnt wanna send the one with the stain. 

I cut out parts of the shirt that I didnt wanna use.  And kinda did a switch.  I used the bottom of the white tank top as the bottom of a shirt for my DD.  The orange fabric is a fat quarter (the same I used on one of my iphone covers) with ribbon as straps. 

For my shirt I just added the brown to the bottom and its kinda a flowy maternity shirt.  Or even a quick top to put on before going out to the beach.  Just a quick project that barely costed an extra money.  If you have all the tools and extras laying around :) And another way to be more green!  Thanks for stopping by...gotta run cause got DDs party coming up this weekend!!

Iphone Cover Re-Do

So I bought these cheap covers off of ebay a while ago and decided to jazz them up recently.  I saw this on a blog somewhere, but only thing I did different is I wasnt able to make a template. 

heres a piece of one of the fabrics that I choose to use.  

I painted this cover white so that it wouldnt show through the fabric.

good old mod podge on the cover.  added the fabric and then more mod podge.  took only a day to cover and dry.  then cut out the hole for the camera and edges.  it not only covered the old iphone covers, but made them more stronger :) this pic has the two covers I used and different fabric pieces.  just a cheap way to change up an old cover! thanks for stopping by :)

Birthday Blog Candy

Sympathy card

Sorry, I have been crafting...just not a lot of posting.  :( But Im still working on a bunch of things Im supposed to get out.  Like some candy...so hopefully this weekend! Im not gonna hold my breath...but thank you for stopping by!

I saw this card on the extreme card blog.  So I decided to try...it didnt come out as nice as I wanted because all my flowers werent even.  Note to self and anyone...make sure flowers are all equal.  Hence, all die cut or punched. This is the inside :)

I made this for my SILs grandmother.  I figured since I wasnt gonna be able to be there or send flowers, I made a card with flowers.  This is the first sympathy card Ive had to make in a while.  I hope that they like it.  Here is the front.

Just got back from some much needed rest and relaxation :) I will be posting my blog candy shortly.  I totally forgot to pre-post it since I knew I was gonna be gone.  But I will hopefully be getting it done this week! My Birthday Dinner

Nothing crafty about this post :) sorry..just some pics from our dinner.  The hubby took me out the Ruths Chris...It was our first times.  Here are pics of the awesome food and dessert that we had.  That place is now my favorite steak place of all time. 

this an appetizer...its called oysters rock-e-feller, I belive.  It was so ono.  And the table show was just as nice!

                              

This is a pic of more pupus :) the seared ahi and shrimp was a winner...from what my hubby told me.  I had a few, but didnt wanna get too full.

Because this is what we ordered for dinner!! and there was only me and my DH :D  But the steak was so buttery...it literally melted in my mouth.  No joke...thats why its my favorite steak place ever!!

And last, but not least...some haupia sherbert, vanilla ice cream, cream brulee and cupcakes.  It was a sweet ending to an awesome birthday dinner. 

Secret Sister Swap Goodies

Ive signed up for a secret sister swap with Kris.  You can swap anything you wanna make...a card, ATC, whatever its up to you.  I didnt take pics of the cards or things I sent.  I totally forgot, cause mine were a little late :) But here are some pics of the wonderful things I received!

This is from my partner Linda.  She sent me the cutest stamp and hello kitty pen & pad.  All in this beautiful container that I cant wait to use!  I actually already inked up the kiki la rue stamp... Thank you linda :)

This next set of goodies was from my partner Cyndi :)  She made me an awesome notebook and post it holder.  Also, sent along some stamping goodies.  Already using my notebook ;)  Thank you Cyndi!!

Last but not least...Ive been so busy to post and say, but just last week was my birthday :) heres the sweet card that my keikis bought me (well the DH bought with them in mind!) The little kole of the tweety bird is supposed to wiggle, but my son got a hold of it and it ended up crooked. 

With a birthday comes gifts...I have yet to open all of mine since I was too busy! But I also have some candy I will be giving away :) so hope you guys stay tuned.  Thanks for dropping by and leaving me some comments...I really do appreciate them! Take care and happy friday!!

Mothers Day Gifts

So I started a bit early on making my mothers day gifts, but I was planning to send some out to my SILs mother.  Shes such a sweet lady and is always so giving to my little ones.  They live in the mainland and I wanted to get them out so she could get them on mothers day!  Remember those shells that I picked a while ago...well this is what I made with some of them.

These are tiny little "beaches" in a bottle.  I added some shells, glass, and other pieces that Ive found along the sea shore.  It reminds us of the beauty of the ocean that surrounds us and that we can take it where ever we go :) Im sending a few of these to the mainland...so they will definetly love a little piece of hawaii with them. 

I made these using a sterling silver chain, mini glass bottle with cork and loop for chain.  Im debating on permanently closing the bottles.  Or even adding some salt water & sand? I might just leave them plain.  And I also hope to sell some in my shop.

My Nieces Birthday Card & a Challenge

Well next up is my nieces birthday card. Her birthday was actually today so I was gonna make a card with butterflies already.  Loving everyones spring themes, but saw that I could go and use it to enter in the Flutterby's Wednesday Challenge.  All you needed to use was either an angel, butterfly or fairy on the card :)

I just made a quick little easel card.  Using one butterfly to prop it up.  The paper is Admire from the Twitterpated.  I love their double sided cardstock! I hope she enjoys the little butterflies :) especially since she was one for a halloween! Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great tuesday.

Another round of Birthdays

Heres is a card I made for my BIL.  His birthday was this past weekend.  I decided to try a card idea I saw on this pop-up cupcake card on another cardmaking blog.  Just trying to do something outta the ordinary.  I hand stamped and colored each cupcake...24 and one for good luck :)
